There’s trouble afoot in Regency London’s Jewish community, and no one to stop the crimes—until wealthy-widower-turned-sleuth Mr. Ezra Melamed teams up with an unlikely pair: General Well’ngone and the Earl of Gravel Lane, the leaders of a gang of young Jewish pickpockets.

In this short Jewish Regency mystery story set during the Frost Fair of 1814, a recently orphaned boy disappears, seemingly off the face of the earth. Mr. Melamed enlists the aid of General Well’ngone, who has his own reason for wishing to find the missing child—the General has fallen in love with the boy’s older sister.

The ebook edition includes both the novella General Well’ngone In Love and an excerpt from the first volume in the Jewish Regency Mystery Series, Tempest in the Tea Room.

A kingdom of shadows. A soldier sworn to protect. A princess silenced by love.

Plagued by her mother’s matchmaking attempts, Princess Lily, the eldest of twelve sisters and heir to a mighty kingdom, struggles to prove herself worthy of her inheritance while avoiding the attention of unwanted admirers. Tradition forbids marriage with the man she loves, so she would rather rule alone than marry someone who only wants the crown.

Fleeing an overzealous suitor, Lily stumbles into a secret underground kingdom where she and her sisters encounter a mysterious sorcerer-prince and become entangled in a curse that threatens the ones she loves most. She must find a way to break the curse before time runs out, or risk sentencing herself and her sisters to a lifetime of darkness.

Fantasy, romance, and adventure combine in the fairy tale-inspired Firethorn Chronicles, an interconnected series of stand-alone tales drawn from The Twelve Dancing Princesses. Follow the sisters on their journeys in a land where sorcery is feared and dragons fly.

[“Clean read” edition – full details below] Anissa is traumatized by the most brutal conflict of the 21st Century: the Syrian Civil War. In 2012, Islamists in Homs terrorize a Syrian-Christian community and destroy everything that a young woman holds dear. Narrowly escaping death, Anissa restarts her devastated life as a college student in New York City. She is bewildered and lost, but hopeful for a better life in a new land.

Anissa is soon drawn to two powerful individuals: Michael Kassab, the Syrian-American leader working to found the first Mideast Christian state, and Julien Morales, her Columbia University professor who runs a $20 billion hedge fund.

Complicating matters, Michael is still attached to his ex-girlfriend and Julien is the most sought after bachelor in Manhattan (and has hidden demons that even his therapist can’t extract). Anissa’s heart and her communal ties pull her in different directions, as she seeks hope and renewal in a dark world.

Anissa of Syria might be compared to The Kite Runner, Exodus, and The Diary of Anne Frank.

NOTE: This is a “clean read” edition of The Syrian Virgin (i.e., this version has no profanity and just a few, brief scenes of minimally described intimacy without reference to any explicit details or sexual anatomy). Due to war themes, this book is not recommended for readers under 16.

There was nothing left.

I looked at the landscape, unable to miss its barren coldness; one that had been caused by the insatiable appetites of those in power.

Walking along the white stretch of road, white due to the continual fall of snow, I saw no-one, as usual.

Not that I expected to see anyone. For I’d been walking for what felt like forever, and as yet found not another soul.

Was I the only one left?

And really, what was the point if I were?

And why had I survived?

What was Christmas? How did it start? And why was it now banned? Why had the Elders decided it would only cause trouble, that its roots were based on something that only caused wars…those that had destroyed the Old Earth?

Some disagree, and maybe can change things before it’s too late for humankind.

Or maybe it’s already too late.

What is difference?
Is it in how we speak,
How we look
Or how we see the world?
Is it the colour of our eyes
The swing of our walk
Or the very essence of
Our minds?

Whatever it is
Maybe we should embrace it
Rather than wanting to
Run away
Or kill it.

Next time there is
What about me,
How do they see me,
Do I care?
Should I care?

What in the end do
We need but
Regardless of change.

Twelve-year-old Jack knows they shouldn’t go, but is unable to persuade his parents not to take the planned trip to the Lake District, England.

Something was going to happen, but what?

The weird feelings he had were always so fuzzy and they didn’t always make sense. Maybe it was just because he’d have to spend time with his pampered cousin, Rosie? Anyway, it was nearly Christmas and what could go wrong with just staying in some cabin in the woods?

He was being stupid…all he had to do was ignore the way his belly churned and his head pounded.

He might be wrong after all.

This mystery adventure tale will drag you into the depths of an icy landscape where you may be afraid to breathe.

The setting is the Lake District in the UK; an exquisite location which almost becomes a character in itself… Rosie Morgan
