Reviews for “Why Kimba Saved The World” from

“My son is 11 years old and reads books mostly about robots, wars and dinosaurs. When I handed him “Why Kimba Saved the World”, he didn’t seem to take much notice. I went to check on him later and found him reading it like his life depended on it! He came to dinner describing every detail! When he was finished reading, he wanted to know how long he had to wait for another book about Kimba. I have never seen him so excited about a book! Since then, he has been checking out books about animals from the library and started writing a book on his own! I highly recommend this book. It has opened up a whole new world for my son!”
Middle Grade Books and Animal Books For Kids

“This is a great book about what it means to be a family. Kimba, the main character, is a playful, curious, and brave feline who is met with a hard choice. It’s an entertaining read and I found myself laughing out loud and reading portions to my husband that I thought were particularly funny. I talked about the book so much he ended up reading it too and he enjoyed it just as much as I did. I’m purchasing a hard copy for my niece who loves animals and I can’t wait to give it to her!”
Cat Books and Cat Books For Kids

“Good read for kids with a lot of suspense and helps us know what our household pets might do while we are away from them. Short book and very fun. It is easy to read and for any child that has a pet cat or just likes cats.”
Chapter Books and Middle Grade Chapter Books

“Cats have a soft spot in my heart, and so does Why Kimba Saved the World, a book about cats. Well, not regular cats–though, they are amazing–but cats who have a collective secret mission. Kimba, an all-white cat with a rebellious streak, is enlisted into an agency of cats who can communicate through mirrors. They tell her of her real heritage, one where humans aren’t the loving caretakers of cats. This book captures cats with amazing accuracy, and the interactions between the cats and their owners are realistic. Who doesn’t grab their cats and hug and kiss them like their own children? (I know I do.) It’s an easy read, and it’s suitable for the whole family. Children will love Kimba’s desperate need to accomplish ridiculous missions outside and inside her home. Parents can relate to Kimba’s owners. Cats may find themselves in Kimba or Hiro or…er, that’s right. Cats can’t read! Why Kimba Saved the World will make any reader believe that cats aren’t from this world.”
Kid’s Cat Books and Kid’s Animal Books

I love cats, so loving this book was only a natural turn of events! I love the character Kimba, and I love the whole story line! If you have a kid or are a kid at heart you will enjoy this nice tail, err.. I mean tale, and your kids will too! Highly recommend to anyone from 9 – 99! Good Work!!”

“Great reading for elementary upper grades and middle schoolers or anyone who enjoys cat stories, highly recommend. I enjoyed as well as my Granddaughters.” review

“Another winner by this talented children’s author. The story’s characters are adorably portrayed with the very real characteristics we cat lovers see daily, but brought to life with humanistic personalities that make this tale truly entertaining. “Vacation Hiro,” by award-winning author Meg Welch Dendler, is another exciting fantasy book appropriate for middle grade youth, cat lovers, or animal lovers in general. This chapter book, perfect for school rooms and personal libraries, comes complete with added photos to personalize the experience.” Arkansas Book Reviewer

“When I finished reading and reviewing Why Kimba Saved the World, I couldn’t imagine Meg Dendler surpassing that story or the personification of the animals in her first book in the Cats in the Mirror Series. I. Was. Wrong! Once again, Dendler has developed the cats and one dog in her story to be exactly as we see them day-to-day, those of us who are cat and dog lovers. Personally, I own a black-and-white tuxedo girl, and with each page turn she leaps out at me as Hiro does this or that. Dendler possesses a talent for character development. As before, Vacation Hiro does not lack for action, dialogue and enough suspense to keep any reader engaged. When I say “any reader,” this is a book not just for the middle reader, but also for animal lovers, those who love to read about animals, grandparents and parents to read to those younger than middle readers, and anyone who loves a touch of fantasy.” Sherrey Meyer, Found Between The Covers
